Assignment 2: Discrimination And Tolerance

Discrimination - Making unfair differences about someone who is not the same as yourself.

Tolerance - Being able to "put up" or deal with someone who annoys or is different than yourself.

My Opinion

To be a victim of Discrimination you dont have to be from a different race, you can be discriminated by anything about you; gender, voice, habits, ect. All over the world people are being descriminated against, witch sometimes even leads to suicied. Everybody has done it. Even me, and I regret it all the time. But you know what strikes me odd? Is that people just stand and watch. They laugh when they think it’s funny and dont even attempt to help the person. Ive seen "best-friends" stand and watch. It Hurts.

The nation of Canada needs more Tolerance! We need to learn how to put up with things that annoy us or appal us. How do you feel when you throw that comment? Do you enjoy their pain? Do you remember being in that situation, trying not be hurt by the ongoing comments and laugh's? Guess not because if you did you wouldnt have said anything.

If everyone in the world had enough will power to not say anything and keep mean things to themselves there would be no such thing as discrimination. No such thing. But tolerance should only go so far, if your being victimised yourself do NOT tolerate it, do somthing about it like tell someone. In no way should doing somthing about it lead to violence because violence is never the answer.

I hope you know now where I stand on this topic.
